Ready for more European Pac-Man fun? This is a 1984 Italian book from AMZ Editrice, which published several Pac-Man books based on the Hanna-Barbera cartoon. I only have this one to share for now, but I hope to acquire more in the future. This book has nice pictures, and I'm always amused to see flesh-colored Ms. Pac. AMZ was consistent across their publications in coloring Ms. Pac and Pac-Baby this peach color instead of yellow. I'm totally on board with the choice. The story is a whirlwind trip through various historical and pseudo-historical/literary scenarios, the conceit being that the Pac-Family is watching a movie called "Pac-Man vs. The Ghosts", and we're watching the movie scenes along with them. But I have a general problem with it. Other than a brief pre-story setup that explains the Ghost Monsters work for an evil wizard (which would be Mezmaron), once the story begins it mostly just shows the Ghost Monsters being persecuted throughout the ages. We are to assume they are

Time for more French Pac-Man fun! Here's another Eurédif offering vaguely based on some concepts from the show but spun into a unique story. The book does not have a clear publication date (possibly 1984 based on the copyright dating listed inside the front cover), nor does it give credit to the author, but the cartoonist is likely Vince Ricotta, as it matches the same ongoing style in these stories. (Mr. Ricotta sent me a message in connection with an earlier post to shine some light on the origins of these books.) In this story, the Pac-family takes a snow vacation, the Pac-pets are up to mischief, and the Ghost Monsters try to ruin everyone's good times. As in other stories like this, the Ghost Monsters prefer bashing Pac-Man with a mallet rather than chomping him. At the beginning of the story, Pac-Man and Ms. Pac have some interesting rivalry. Pac-Man greedily claims the shiny brand new skis while Ms. Pac has to use the old ones. He suggests they have a race. Ms. Pac starts to

It's been a while since I tore up one of these old French books for your amusement, and I forgot I even had this coloring book until recently. These things never have publication info/indicia, so I don't know when it was actually published, but I'd guess 1984/85, somewhere in there. As usual for Eurédif Pac-Man books, it derives images from a limited number of episodes, this time only three - Presidential Pac-Nappers, Public Pac-Enemy No. 1, and Christmas Comes to Pacland. I think this is the first time I've seen images from the Xmas episode in a Eurédif book, but they were positively obsessed with those other two episodes, which are repeated ad nauseam in many of their Pac-Man publications. Interestingly, for most images it offers two versions - a colored page and a black and white page for you to color yourself - so it kinda doubles an art book for those who just want to watch and a coloring book for those who want to get their hands dirty. Dirty with color!

Everyone in Pacland loves saying "chomp" (or some variation of it). Here's three minutes of proof. I should point out this is every instance of the word used to specifically or vaguely reference the act of chomping and does not include other uses, such as the name of the dog Chomp Chomp.
